What we do
Passive fire protection services
Survey, remedial works and installation for commercial, industrial and residential buildings across the UK. Select a service for its scope, deliverables and the detail we work to.
Survey
Fire Door Surveys
What we check
- Gaps and alignment to the frame, head and threshold
- Intumescent strips and smoke seals
- Hinges, closers, latches and other ironmongery
- Glazing, beading and apertures
- Signage and door-side identification
- Certification labelling or plugs where present
What you receive
- A record per door, photographed and location-referenced
- A clear pass or fail position against each check
- Defects prioritised so you can programme the remedials
- A schedule that can be priced line by line
Commonly used to close out fire risk assessment actions, to establish a baseline across a portfolio, or to check doors before handover.
Remedial
Fire Door Remedials
What we put right
- Gaps eased or made good to the correct tolerance
- Intumescent strips and smoke seals replaced
- Closers adjusted or replaced so the door closes and latches
- Hinges, latches and ironmongery replaced like for like
- Glazing beads and intumescent glazing seals reinstated
- Signage corrected to the right face of the door
How we work
- Repairs made to the doorset manufacturer’s specification where it is known
- Components matched to the rating of the door, not to what fits
- Each door photographed before and after, against its reference
- Doors beyond economic repair reported rather than patched
Not every door can be brought back. Where a leaf is damaged beyond the manufacturer’s tolerance or the doorset cannot be evidenced, we will say so and price a replacement rather than make a repair that will not perform.
Install
Fire Door Supply & Installation
What we supply and fit
- Certificated timber and composite doorsets
- Frames, architraves and thresholds
- Fire-rated ironmongery, closers and hold-open devices
- Fire-rated glazing and vision panels
- Signage and door identification
Installed and recorded
- Frame fixed at the specified centres through solid packers
- Perimeter gap firestopped, not foam-filled and covered
- Door hung and adjusted so it closes and latches from any position
- Door reference, location and installation detail recorded at handover
Most fire door failures start at installation. A frame fixed out of square, or a perimeter gap filled with the wrong product, will defeat a correctly certificated doorset.
Survey
Compartmentation Surveys
Where we look
- Risers and service shafts
- Ceiling voids and raised floors
- Plant rooms and switch rooms
- Roof spaces and cupboards
- Horizontal service routes between compartments
What you receive
- Findings referenced against your drawings
- Photographs of every defect, located and numbered
- A prioritised remedial schedule you can budget from
- Evidence suitable for an FRA or a building safety case
Compartmentation only performs if it is continuous. A single unsealed penetration in a riser can undo the rating of every wall around it, which is why the survey covers the route rather than a sample of rooms.

Passive Fire Stopping
What we seal
- Cables, bunched cables and cable trays or baskets
- Metallic and plastic pipework, insulated and bare
- Ductwork and mixed service penetrations
- Linear gaps, head-of-wall and floor junctions
- Redundant openings and oversized apertures
How it is recorded
- Product and detail chosen for the substrate and service type
- Installed within the tested parameters for that system
- Each penetration photographed before and after
- Location, product reference and rating logged per item
Plastic pipes, insulated services and mixed penetrations each need a different detail. Treating them the same is the most common reason a seal that looks finished would not perform.
Advisory
Consultancy & Advice
Where we help
- Turning FRA and survey findings into a workable scope
- Specification and product selection for awkward details
- Prioritising works against risk, occupation and budget
- Sequencing remedials around a live building
- What records you need to keep, and in what form
Typical situations
- An FRA has landed and the actions are not costed
- A survey report is too vague to tender from
- Works were done before and the records are missing
- A building needs a defensible position for its safety case
This is practical contractor advice on scope and specification. It is not a fire risk assessment, and it does not replace one carried out by a competent assessor.
Not sure which you need?
Send us what you have — an FRA action list, a survey report, or just the address and the problem — and we will tell you what the scope actually is.
